North Peachtree Vietnamese Baptist Church
North Peachtree Vietnamese Baptist Church was birthed out of Hau Le’s desire to see Vietnamese people come to Christ. Hau spends his days visiting Vietnamese people and sharing the gospel with them. While the church has a good group of believers, many of them are still not very strong in their faith so Hau’s work also includes helping believers grow in their walk with God.
Most Vietnamese people come from a Buddhist background, but many don’t know why they believe the way they do. When Hau shares the gospel with them, some are open to listening, while others are very resistant.
North Peachtree Vietnamese Baptist Church is fortunate to have a good relationship with the Vietnamese community through Pastor Le. Because of that relationship, the church has been able to run an ad in a Vietnamese newspaper and a Vietnamese radio station has talked about the church as well.
In addition to Sunday morning Bible study and worship, North Peachtree Vietnamese Baptist has Bible studies that meet during the week at church members’ homes. The groups have dinner together and provide a great venue for non-believers to come and freely ask questions. |
Hau Le
Hau Le grew up in a Christian family in Vietnam. In 1975, he became a Vietnamese soldier with the Army of the Republic of Vietnam until the communists of North Vietnam took over Southern Vietnam. Hau was kept in a “reeducation camp” about seven years before being released and allowed to go to the United States in 1992. After arriving in the States, Hau enrolled at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. After graduation, he went to Marietta and opened Marietta Baptist Vietnamese where he served for fourteen years. As Hau began to come in contact with many Vietnamese who did not know Christ in the Dunwoody area, God burdened his heart for them and he began having Bible studies to reach the Vietnamese there. These Bible studies have grown into North Peachtree Vietnamese Baptist Church which officially started in December of 2009.
