What is Urban Atlanta Church Planting?
The mission of UACP is to intentionally plant healthy, reproducing congregations inside the perimeter (ITP) of Atlanta. We will achieve this mission through church planting, community transformation (evangelism that results in changed lives), and leadership development (coaching).
UACP Strategist
In November 2009, Dr. Jim Haskell began his ministry as the Executive Director/Lead Strategist for Urban Atlanta Church Planting (UACP). Dr. Haskell was already a member of the Leadership Team, pastoring First Baptist Church Chattahoochee, a church inside the perimeter. Under his leadership, FBCC has helped plant several UACP churches in the past year and has become a Regional Church Planting Church.
In the video below, Dr. Haskell gives a brief overview of the challenges of Atlanta ITP.
URBAN TRAILS
Urban Trails is a Missional Living and Learning Experience for university students. Students in the Atlanta area are enlisted to live in unchurched and underserved urban communities to discover and implement community transformation initiatives, including but not restricted to church planting, educational tutoring/mentoring, economic development pathways, safety empowerment and housing creation. A well-developed and already tested process of preparation and guidance has been formulated.
Profiles of some of the UACP church plants and church planters are now accessible through the PROFILES MENU at left below the main menu. Click on the name of the church plant to learn more about the church and the church planter. (To access planters by their names, click on the "Planters" item in the main menu.)
